Our 2013 Carignane was again the last fruit of the vintage picked from this beautiful and ancient vineyard. Just as we have for several years, we drove all night to arrive at the vineyard just as the sun was about to rise. Working with the picking crew, our fruit was quickly placed in bins and loaded on our trailer for the long drive back to Arroyo Grande.

Once home, we crushed and slowly fermented the juice after a short period of cold soaking. This wine was fortified with artisan produced grape brandy halfway through fermentation and moved to one new Virginian-American oak barrel. The wine rested in this one barrel for 26 months before being hand-bottled.
